The Difference Between Kitchen Paper And Regular Paper Towels

Recently, I discovered a kitchen essential – kitchen paper. I used to think that wiping the kitchen countertop with a cloth was enough, but since using kitchen paper, I've realized it's a treasure! Today, I'll talk about the differences between kitchen paper and regular paper towels, and share some usage tips.

Absorbency and Oil Absorption

One of the biggest differences between kitchen paper and regular paper towels is their absorbency and oil absorption. Kitchen paper has 4 times the absorbency and 8 times the oil absorption, meaning it can quickly absorb moisture and oil. While regular paper towels have better absorbency and toughness, their oil absorption is not as good as kitchen paper. When I use kitchen paper to wipe dishes, I find that it really absorbs the moisture and oil stains quickly, leaving the countertop clean and refreshing. Regular paper towels, while also absorbing water, are not as effective at removing oil stains as kitchen paper.

Safety and Hygiene Standards

Kitchen paper undergoes high-temperature sterilization, resulting in the lowest bacterial residue. It also eliminates the addition of fluorescent agents, making it particularly safe to use. You can safely use it to wrap food without worrying about foodborne illnesses. Regular paper towels, on the other hand, have relatively lower hygiene standards and may contain harmful substances such as fluorescent agents and bleach. I used to wipe my mouth with regular paper towels, and it irritated my lips, so I switched to kitchen paper towels. Kitchen paper towels are not only safe but also thick and won't leave lint or residue, making them much more reassuring to use.

Usage Scenarios and Convenience: Kitchen paper towels are best suited for kitchen cleaning and food wrapping, such as absorbing grease and wiping stovetops. They're also incredibly convenient for wiping countertops, range hoods, and refrigerators. Once, while cooking, I used kitchen paper towels to absorb the moisture from the fish and the oil from the pan, and as a result, there was no more oil splattering when frying the fish—it was fantastic! Regular paper towels, however, are more suitable for daily facial cleaning, hand and clothing wiping. Regular paper towels are softer and better suited for wiping the face and hands, but less suitable for kitchen cleaning.
